Madison, Wisconsin

Nate received funding to attend the APTLII program at the University of Madison, WI, in the summer of 2012.  The boys and I came up a couple of times to visit, spend some time as a family, and enjoy the area.

The city was actually surprisingly nice.  It was filled with parks (probably because the lake intersects the city), which made for nice afternoons out with the kids.  We frequented some playgrounds, walked by the water, and took the kids to the zoo.  While I don't have too many pictures of it, I have to say I was rather impressed by the zoo.  It was totally free -  even the parking - and the entertainment options inside were very reasonably priced (you could ride a train or merry-go-round for $1 and concessions were much more reasonable than any other zoo I'd been to).
